Overview
The Mixtreme 192 S/PDIF option provides an easy way to connect the Mixtreme 192 to S/PDIF compatible devices. S/PDIF is typically available on stereo devices such as effects units, CD, DVD, DAT or MiniDisc players, and increasingly on synthesizers. It is also available on some mixing desks.
The Soundscape Mixtreme 192 audio card provides 16 simultaneous audio inputs and outputs. When the S/PDIF option is installed, the input source for channels 15 and 16 can be switched between S/PDIF and TDIF in software, as shown below:
If TDIF is selected as the input source for channels 15 and 16, then the RCA input connector can be used for WordClock, SuperClock or FrameClock input.
With the S/PDIF option installed, the Mixtreme 192’s RCA output connector duplicates the signal transmitted via TDIF outputs 15 and 16.
The Mixtreme 192 S/PDIF daughterboard takes seconds to install. Two jumpers must be removed, then it simply plugs onto the Mixtreme 192 via two connectors.
