The iBox MADI-OptiCoax is part of the Soundscape StudioHelpers range, a collection of handy studio tools that can prove invaluable for small but essential tasks such as connecting main devices that support different formats, or reliably distributing a single WordClock signal to several devices.
The Soundscape StudioHelpers may be simple, but they are designed and built to last. They come in small and sturdy, yet good looking aluminium casings and use components of the highest quality, as you would expect from Sydec Audio Engineering. They are also very easy to operate, and clear legending is provided on top of the units, in white on a black background.
The iBox MADI-OptiCoax can convert up to 64 audio channels bidirectionally between the MADI Optical and MADI Coaxial formats (the optical format is recommended for long distances). Its front panel is equipped with one MADI coaxial input and one MADI coaxial output on BNC connectors and one MADI optical input and one MADI optical output on Fibre-SC connectors. The rear panel features a connector for the internal power supply.
