Product details
The Soundscape EACM™ EQ|2 combines four bands of parametric equalization with one low-pass filter and one high-pass filter.

Interface features:
- One pair of concentric knobs for each EQ band, to control gain and center frequency.
- One pair of concentric knobs for filter cut-off frequency adjustement (central rotary control for the low-pass filter, outer ring for the high-pass filter).
- Individual Hi Q mode switches for the Low-Mid and High-Mid EQ bands.
- Individual Peaking/Shelving mode switches for the Low and High EQ bands.
- A global Pre/Post mode switch for the filters (the filters are placed after the EQ by default, before the EQ if the switch is pressed).
- The HI Q, Peaking/Shelving and Pre/Post switches are lit to indicate On status for clear and immediate visual feedback.
- One input level knob.
- Value readouts for all the main controls. Just like the knobs, these readouts can be used easily with the M-Touch™ control feature.
- Input and output level metering "LEDs" with 1 second, 6 second and Infinite peak hold options.
- A collapsible EQ curve display allowing direct graph editing with the mouse (clicking the Graph button in the top/center of the plug-in interface opens/closes the EQ curve display).
Control features:
While its looks and control layout are a clear reference to the hardware that inspired it, the Soundcape EACM™ EQ|2 offers all the ergonomic control features defined for the Soundscape EACM™ range and previously seen on the EACM™ EQ|1 plug-in:
- M-Touch™: Whenever the mouse pointer hovers over one of the controls, this control automatically becomes selected (this is visually indicated). The parameter can then be adjusted using the mouse scroll wheel, if you have one. This feels as close as possible to using a control surface… without having a control surface (but of course if you have one, you can use it too via Console Manager). Even the readouts can be used in this way to adjust parameters, in which case the individual digit that the mouse pointer is on responds to the scroll wheel.
- Rope-Tune™ and Quick-Fade™: Clicking and holding a control and dragging the mouse activates the Rope-Tune™ (for rotary pots) or Quick-Fade™ (for readouts) function. A "rope" (Rope-Tune™) or "fader" (Quick-Fade™) is displayed between the control and the mouse pointer. With Rope-Tune™, the adjustment resolution of the rotary increases as the rope gets longer. With Quick-Fade™, you can simply change the readout value as you would adjust a virtual fader.
- Quick-Type™: With Quick-Type™, parameter values can be adjusted quicker than ever in the readouts using the keyboard of the host computer.
- R-Set™: Holding the Control key on the host computer keyboard and double-clicking a control resets the corresponding parameter to its default value.
- Store Temp and Recall Temp buttons: With these buttons there is no need to store settings under a new program name to make A/B comparisons. Clicking the Store Temp button stores current settings in a memory buffer. You can then continue to tweak parameters, and click the Temp Recall button at any time to switch between the current and stored settings, as many times as you need.
The Soundscape EACM™ EQ|2 perfectly combines classic looks and advanced ergonomy. It also provides DSP efficiency along with superb sonic performance: up to 40 mono instances or 32 stereo instances can run on a single Mixpander/9 at 44.1kHz. While this is enough to use it as a channel EQ for multiple tracks, its character is such that you may decide to use it across your main bus for some projects.
