Soundscape Mixer V4.1 now available!
With the same mixer architecture as the high-end Soundscape digital audio workstations and support for DSP-powered effects and processing plug-ins, Mixtreme and Mixtreme 192, soon to be joined by Mixpander Power Pak, have always offered more than mere soundcards. The story continues…
It had to happen! Following further development of the VST support introduced in V4.0, VST instruments running on the host CPU can now be inserted directly into the Soundscape Mixer. Click on a VSTi element to open its interface, and use the pop-up menu to select a MIDI input for real-time performance.
For the first time, you can switch on your PC and have a quick jam on any one of your favourite virtual instruments, and you don’t even need to open a host application anymore. The Soundscape Mixer application is launched at log on and you need nothing else to start playing.

In fact, you can even build mixer configurations with multiple VST instruments for quick access to the sounds of your choice, play them individually, layer them... anything is possible.
Version 4.1 is a free incremental update for owners of a Version 4.0 password. A major step forward, Version 4.0 superseded the Mixtreme V1.4 software and brought the new look and some of the extra functionality of the Soundscape Editor V4.0 to the standalone Mixer application. The features introduced in Version 4.0 are described below:
The new “hierarchical mixer element selection menu” option, borrowed from the Soundscape Editor, makes building a Mixer even easier. You will never need to scroll through a list of mixer elements again, even if you have a lot of DSP plug-ins installed: submenus let you find what you need more quickly and more easily.

With the Soundscape Mixer Version 4.0, Mixtreme, Mixtreme 192 and Mixpander Power Pak users can insert VST effects plug-ins directly in the Soundscape Mixer and move or copy them just like other mixer elements (the VST plug-ins run on the CPU of the host PC).

But the main new feature must be that Version 4.0 can control any combination of the classic Mixtreme card and the new Mixtreme 192 and forthcoming Mixpander Power Pak. You could for instance have 96 external inputs and outputs across one Mixpander Power Pak and two Mixtremes, all available in the Soundscape Mixer.
The Soundscape Mixer V4.1 is supplied free of charge with a new Mixtreme 192 or Mixpander Power Pak. Mixtreme V1.4 users can purchase a V4.x password for a modest €39.00 upgrade fee. Further V4.x upgrades will then be supplied free of charge (until the release of V5.0).
